Let’s talk fonts for a minute… more specifically, the best fonts for wedding invitations.
As a stationery designer, it’s safe to say that I spend a lot (like, a lot a lot) of time pouring over fonts. That’s because the font you choose for your stationery makes a huge impact on your wedding. Not just on your invitations, but on the entire look and feel of your wedding day.
Fonts set the tone for your wedding stationery and they happen to be one of the first things your guests see about your wedding. That’s why it’s completely worth the time—and dare I say, money (<— hear me out!)—to find the perfect font.
Here are the calligraphy fonts I use in the shop as well as on my high-end custom designs over and over again.
Pssst. This post was originally published on my old blog, back when I was designing resumes on the side. Since I’ve quit my corporate job and am now designing and selling digital downloads full time here at Pipkin Paper Company, I thought this post was a better fit here.
This little paper business all started with a question:
How can I make money when I don’t have a job or any money to invest upfront?
When I first quit my job, I thought I was just going to be taking a couple months off from the corporate world to figure out my next move before finding a new desk job. After spending 7 years in D.C., waking up at 4 am, commuting an hour each way (on a good day), and barely having enough time to eat dinner before it was bedtime all over again, I was ready for a more flexible line of work. One that preferably came with less time at a desk, more telework opportunities, amazing pay, and lots of artsy fartsy projects to dive into.
Sometimes the easiest DIYs are the best DIYs and that’s certainly the case with these cute 5-minute paper straw flags.
We love ourselves a good old fashioned DIY wedding. In fact, we believe that the best weddings are often made in the details, and that couples can (and should!) sprinkle fun, festive reminders of their big day everywhere they possibly can.
One way to do that is with cute drink stirrers. Choose straws that reflect the look and feel of your wedding. Then tack on a fun phrase that’ll get your guests in the festive spirit.
This DIY project is so easy, it probably shouldn’t even qualify as a project, per se. More like a fun weekend activity for you and your bridesmaids. But with save the date magnets being so popular these days, what kind of DIY-loving-stationer would I be if I didn’t tell you how to make your own using a simple, run of the mill invitation template?
