The other day I was perusing the BHLDN website when I saw a pair of cute vow books. Have you heard of these? I didn’t even know these were a thing until I stumbled on them, and let’s just say now I’m super smitten. My husband and I didn’t write our own vows, but having a darling pair of notebooks to write them in might have changed things. So I designed the DIY vow books of my dreams–thick textured cardstock, calligraphy, dreamy ribbon, the works–and thought I would share the template with you for your own wedding.

Subtle Watercolor Wedding Invitations + How to Make Your Own

One of the best parts of my job is creating custom invitation suites for brides with a vision. Every now and then I get a request from a bride to do something a little different. Usually she loves one of the template suites in the shop but wants it customized to fit the look and feel of her big day. And I love brides who want their wedding to feel like them—cookie cutter weddings are so 2016 (ha, just kidding I just made that up but you know what I mean). So whenever this happens I always respond the same way: “Yes!!!” followed by excessive exclamation points and lots of heart eyes emojis. And that’s how these watercolor wedding invitations were born.

She wanted a soft, pale peach color to complement her bridesmaids’ dresses and a whimsical watercolor effect to play off some hand lettered calligraphy. I obviously loved everything about her vision and couldn’t wait to bring it to life, so I jumped all over it like a spider monkey on a banana tree.

DIY Mr and Mrs Champagne Flutes

Happy Friday everyone! I have a super fun DIY for you today that (surprise!) has nothing to do with paper. Even though I clearly have a love affair with paper projects, this just so happens to be one of my favorite DIYs of all time. These wedding champagne flutes are so cute and festive, and not to mention simple, that you’ll want to give them as wedding gifts for the foreseeable future. And they don’t have to just be for the bride and groom. You can easily customize them with your friends’ names for bridesmaid gifts, shower favors, even anniversary presents. Just attach a pretty tag and toss in a teeny bottle of champagne and you’re good to go.

Make These Cute Save the Dates for Free!

Remember those pretty rose invitations we made a few months ago with the calligraphy and the vellum? Not only were they a huge hit around here but they’re actually some of our all-time favorite invitations. Ever ever. They were so much fun to make that I decided to do something similar with some free save the date templates that we have in the Resource Library.

Okay, back to the save the dates.

This time, I chose a couple of gorgeous engagement photos and printed them on my favorite linen cardstock. I love a textured cardstock because it adds such a nice character to these cards, especially when layered under dainty vellum. Plus it’s perfect for printing at home because the texture hides some of the imperfections that might show up when using a desktop printer (grain or streaks don’t stand a chance).
