With a wedding comes a lot of stationery. It seems just about every festivity has a corresponding invite and etiquette rule (oh, do we know!). So it’s no wonder that between choosing, ordering and sending all of your wedding stationery, you’re about ready to throw in the towel and elope. And to make matters worse, most timelines and checklists have waaaay too many to do’s (um, bridal shower invites? Girl, pass those off to your bridesmaids with a hug and a thank you). If you’re more the Cliffs Notes type like me, here is a simplified wedding stationery timeline to talk you down off the ledge and get you back to the fun part of wedding planning.
Oh, and don’t forget to grab your printable checklist (it’s totally f-r-e-e). Just sign up at the bottom of this post and we’ll send you the link.

Hey, all my brides-to-be! I’m sure you’re in the thick of wedding planning as we speak, yes? If you ask me, this is where things start to get fun: when you’re playing in the weeds and planning all those tiny details. Speaking of details, one of my favorite ways to up the wow factor of regular ol’ invites is with vellum. It’s beautiful, sheer and a little bit fancy. Gorgeous, hand-lettered envelopes are everywhere these days. But with calligraphers charging $4 an envelope, they’re out of most couples’ budgets. Read on to learn how.

Psst. To download your free save the dates, just scroll down to the “Materials” section and click the “Free Save the Date Templates” link.
Few things set the tone for your wedding quite like a unique save the date. Whether it be a series of photos on a photo booth strip or a card with a mini pencil attached (you know, so you can “pencil them in”–ha!), the cleverness gets me every time.
But clever doesn’t have to mean expensive or time consuming. My favorite way to add interest and beauty to simple save the dates is by layering vellum overtop a gorgeous cardstock. Not only is it insanely easy, but you can print them on your home printer and assemble them in less than an hour. Then tie everything together with a teeny gold brad and tuck them in festive envelopes before popping them in the mail.
And the best part? We’re giving away the template for free. We promise, your guests will love them.
